Questions are asked to be answered,
so I've saved you some time by doing both!

1. How long have you been in the industry?
Since 2002 I worked in the print and design industry for some of the biggest print & media companies in Australasia. Then fast forward to mid 2013 I shot my first wedding, finished my Diploma in Photography 2015 and since 2017 it has turned into my full time gig!

2. What is your photographic style?
Fun, relaxed and authentic. My style of photography is documentary mixed in with a little creative portraiture, mostly using natural or available light. I love to capture the whole story, from morning prep to first dance, because weddings don't finish after a couple of hours. I also try not to be too obtrusive or in your face while taking my snaps. If you need direction during the lovey dovey stuff, I have a few tricks up my sleeve, but as for the rest, it's candid, natural, all in the moment, them real feels.

3. What happens to the copyright of the images?
With my wedding packages, you get a set of Hi-Res photos on a beautiful wooden USB. With regards to copyright, there are only a few conditions. These are in regards to commercial use; re-selling; and for use in my portfolio. For personal stuff like Facebook, if you post my pics up, a simple link/mention of myself, Facebook page, Instagram and website is appreciated. For any commercial use, eg vendors requesting pics, please send them through to me and I can organise the release of any images and appropriate copyright fees.

4. Do you travel for photography work?
Sure do! I'm based in Palmerston North, but I have done weddings down the road in little old Kumeti and all the way over to beautiful destination weddings in places like Samoa. If I do need to go outside the Manawatu, travel and accommodation costs are an extra cost and agreed upon before booking. If you are thinking of having a destination wedding, I'm always up for a little adventure!

5. What equipment do you use?
For all my design work, I use Adobe Creative Suite and my trusty Macs! For all my photography work, during your wedding I run a multi camera set up, with a mixture of high speed primes and zoom lenses, couple of strobes (flashes) and a whole heap of other goodies!

6. Do you back up your work?
All my work is backed up to a dedicated hard drives. With regards to wedding photography, I don't shoot your wedding onto just one memory card. The day is spilt up over multiple cards, without running the risk of losing all your images if heaven forbid, a card fails! Once my day is done, all your photos are backed up onto a harddrive as well as on my Mac!

7. What happens if you get sick on my wedding day?
I won't, and if I am sick, you won't know.

8. Do you release your RAW files?
Nope, you don't ask the chef for the raw chicken bones to come out with your cooked chicken main...if you do then you're super weird!

9. Do you we need to feed you?
As I'm shooting all day, I usually smash a snack or three of my own while I'm floating between everywhere. All I ask is a small meal at dinner time, nothing flash. Caterers and venues usually have a vendor option available on request.

10. Do you require a retainer for Wedding Photography?
Yes please, a non refundable $500 retainer is required to reserve your wedding date. Half paid 3 months out and the remaining balance to be paid before your wedding day. If you’re worried that things may change your plans, I recommend getting wedding insurance!

11. Am I insured?
Hell yes I am! I have Equipment and Public Liability insurance with Rothbury NZ!

12. Can we plan a time to meet and put names to faces?
I recommend it!, contact me and we can catch up over a hot cuppa!

Finally some wise words from one of the people who inspires me, Van Middleton (I was lucky to spin a yarn with him while I was in the Goldy, check out his work, it's amazeballs!). It's a must read for all you people who are thinking of getting married!
