A great photograph should slap your senses from multiple angles all at once.
— Auckland Camera Awards 2020

This image does just that. David has capitalised on a candid, iconic moment, and infused a unique method of illuminating the scene as well as the subject all at the same time while adding a great sense of emotion which a powerful photo does. A multitude of aspects such as timing, lighting, composition, positioning, and a vision for what he wanted to capture, all aligned perfectly to produce this striking image - Auckland Camera

Image was of the first dance from Laura and Garry’s wedding at The Milk Station.

Congrats to all the entrants and thank you to Auckland Camera for the award and sweet Canon camera.

What's in my camera bag with Sony New Zealand

Nearly every wedding I have Uncle Tom with his flash safari camera or Instagram Traveller Cousin Timmy come over and spin a yarn about techy camera stuff, so here’s what I had in my kit over this past weekend.
Thanks to Sony and Sony Alpha New Zealand for coming to the party. The crew got me a trio of brand spanking new lenses in the 24 F1.4 Gmaster, the pocket rocket 35mm F1.8 and the little @zeisscameralenses 55mm F1.8. Even managed to sneak in a 24-70mm F2.8 Gmaster just for this weekend too. I’ve been rocking Sony since 2016 with my go to wedding combo being the 35mm + 55mm, if you’re a photographer what’s your favourite focal length? | #davidle_nz @davidle_nz
